Travel Pay
General Travel
Northeast Data, Inc. will compensate travel time if included in a customer bid. Employees will be paid at their normal rate up to the maximum bid travel hours per one-way trip within a 24-hour period.
Local Travel
Employees must provide their own transportation to job sites within a 40-mile radius of the office. This travel is not compensated. Travel beyond this radius is paid at the standard rate. Holiday travel is paid at the standard rate without extra compensation. Travel pay is only provided if included in a customer contract (effective 04/13/2009).
Travel Delays
- Flight Delays: Notify the Operations Department. Compensation for delays over 25% of the allotted travel time is at the manager’s discretion.
- Employee Error: No compensation for delays due to negligence (e.g., missed flights). Weather-related delays are treated as excused absences.
Manager Travel
Managers are not eligible for travel pay unless they work over 8 hours in a day or exceed 40 hours in a week.
Employee Responsibilities
- Timeliness: Employees must ensure timely arrival at job sites within the 40-mile radius.
- Communication: Notify the Operations Department promptly about any travel delays.
- Accountability: Employees are responsible for any travel delays caused by personal negligence.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of travel time and submit them as required for compensation.
Dispute Resolution
- Initial Resolution: Employees should first attempt to resolve any disputes regarding travel pay with their immediate supervisor.
- Formal Complaint: If the dispute is not resolved, employees may file a formal complaint with the Human Resources Department.
- Review Process: The Human Resources Department will review the complaint and gather necessary information from all parties involved.
- Final Decision: A decision will be made by the Human Resources Department, and both the employee and supervisor will be informed of the outcome. The decision of the Human Resources Department is final.
