Company Issued Tools & Equipment – Installation Group
Northeast Data, Inc. will provide necessary tools and equipment, such as termination tools, drills, ladders, and hardhats, to appropriate personnel. Employees are expected to use company tools responsibly and not for personal use without prior consent from the owner of Northeast Data, Inc.
We are committed to providing quality tools and ensuring that the proper tools are available as required. Upon hiring, each employee will receive a complete list of personal tools required. Any tools issued to an employee must be properly maintained.
Tool Maintenance
Employees are responsible for the proper care and maintenance of all company-issued tools. This includes:
- Regularly inspecting tools for damage or wear.
- Cleaning tools after use to ensure they remain in good working condition.
- Reporting any damaged or malfunctioning tools to a manager immediately.
- Following manufacturer guidelines for tool maintenance and storage.
Tool Storage
Proper storage of tools is essential to maintain their condition and ensure safety. Employees must:
- Store tools in designated areas when not in use.
- Ensure tools are kept in a clean, dry, and secure environment.
- Return tools to their proper storage locations after each use.
- Avoid leaving tools in areas where they could pose a safety hazard or be damaged.
Tool Inventory
To ensure accountability and proper management of company-issued tools, the following inventory procedures will be followed:
- A detailed inventory of all tools will be maintained by the company.
- Employees will sign out tools when issued and sign them back in upon return.
- Regular audits of tool inventory will be conducted to ensure all tools are accounted for.
- Any discrepancies in the inventory must be reported immediately to a supervisor.
Tool Replacement
In the event that a tool is lost or damaged, the following replacement procedures will apply:
- Lost tools or tools damaged due to abuse will be replaced by the company, with the replacement cost deducted from the employee’s next paycheck.
- Tools that are damaged through normal wear and tear will be replaced by the company at no cost to the employee.
- Employees must report lost or damaged tools to their supervisor immediately to initiate the replacement process.
Acceptable Use
Employees are expected to use company-issued tools and equipment for their intended purposes only. Examples of acceptable use include:
- Using drills and termination tools for installing and maintaining network infrastructure.
- Wearing safety gear, such as hard hats and safety glasses, while on job sites to ensure personal safety.
- Utilizing ladders for accessing elevated work areas during installations.
- Using the P-Touch and punch down tools for labeling and organizing network cables.
Consequences for Misuse
Misuse of company-issued tools and equipment will not be tolerated. Misuse includes, but is not limited to, using tools for personal projects without permission, neglecting proper maintenance, or intentionally damaging tools. Consequences for misuse may include:
- Verbal or written warnings.
- Reimbursement for repair or replacement costs.
- Deduction of replacement costs from the employee’s paycheck.
- Suspension or termination of employment, depending on the severity of the misuse.

- Safety Glasses
- Safety Vest
- Gloves
- Glove Grabbers
- Safety Harness
- Safety Lanyard
- Baseball Cap
- Uniform Shirts
- P-Touch
- Punch Down Tool
