Layover Pay
Purpose:
To fairly compensate installation department employees for time spent waiting during layovers due to unforeseen delays, ensuring their time is valued and maintaining job satisfaction.
Scope:
This policy applies to all installation department employees of Northeast Data, Inc.
Definitions:
- Layover: A period when an employee is unable to continue their work due to delays such as mechanical issues, weather conditions, waiting for materials, or customer schedule changes.
Policy:

Eligibility for Layover Pay:
- Employees are eligible for layover pay if they are delayed and prevented from working their out-of-town schedule due to unforeseen delays such as customer schedule changes, delays in materials, or other similar issues.

Compensation:
- Layover pay will be calculated at the employee’s normal pay rate and will not be included in overtime calculations.

Procedure:
- Employees must notify their supervisor immediately upon encountering a layover situation.
- The manager will verify the cause of the layover and approve the layover pay.
- Employees must submit a layover pay on their bi-weekly timecard

Review and Approval:
- All layover pay requests will be reviewed by the department manager for approval.
- Approved layover pay will be included in the employee’s next paycheck.
Review
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary.
