Training

Effective October 1, 2005, our training program guidelines have changed. Any employee with pre-existing training agreements prior to October 1, 2005 will be forgiven. Our new training guidelines will be as follows:

Certain training and certification that are needed for Northeast Data employment will require training courses. These training courses must be at the request of the Northeast Data employee. If a Northeast Data employee does request training he/she must sign a training agreement. Northeast Data has budgeted for certain departments an allotted amount of money per employee. No employee under any given year shall utilize more than $2,500.00 of training expenses with in a one-year allotment from the date that they have completed the training course. The training expenses are defined as:

  1. All pay disbursed to the employee including travel pay / regular pay / and overtime pay.
  2. All travel expenses, including car rental / per diem / hotel rooms / taxi cab fares / etc.
  3. All fees and charges assessed by the training course. Including exam fees / course sign up costs.

What types of training will be approved

Training will only be approved and provided if it is training that will improve current job skills or maintain CEU’s to keep required certifications pertaining to your current job.

Payback Rate

The payback rate for the course being provided will be 1 year employment with Northeast Data otherwise the employee will be expected to pay back to Northeast Data the full associated costs of the training if no longer employed by Northeast Data through fault of the employee. I.E. employee is terminated or resigned from the company with in the year term.

The Northeast Data employee agrees to:

  1. Complete the course of study, and sit for all required exams and tests and pass exams with in 90 - days of testing.
  2. Remain in the employ of Northeast Data for Instruction cost provided to the employee and agree to the payback rate of one full year of employment.
  3. The premise that termination will be treated the same as resignation of the employee.
  4. Allow all earnings owed employee at separation of employment to be applied to any balances owed by merit of this agreement.
  5. Allow future earnings of employee to be garnished until unpaid debt generated by this agreement plus any collection costs are satisfied.
  6. Make every effort to apply knowledge and information gained by instruction to the work place.

The next section is the Course Cost Detail. This consists of the breakdown in costs for the course. The total course/hotel/travel/Per Diem costs, and wages, are then totaled.

Apprentices and Installers

Technician / Foreman / Managers / Exempt Employees

The policy set forth in this documentation is to help aid all Northeast Data personnel in their quest to become better informed and better skilled on their job levels. All training classes need to be pre-approved by the group manager’s prior to the course being set up.

Safety Training

At no cost to the employee, Safety Training classes will be performed in the following manner:

  1. Weekly Tool Box meetings Performed by the Northeast Data Foreman (20 minutes)
  2. Monthly Safety Training Classes Performed by the Northeast Data Operations Mgr. (1 hour)
  3. Quarterly Work Shop Classes Performed by the Northeast Data Operations Mgr. (8 hours)

These training classes are mandatory and all Northeast Data personnel will be expected to attend each class / meeting. Any Northeast Data employee whom is unable to attend these classes are expected to Notify the instructor at least 1 week prior to the training class so an alternative method of training can be provided to the absent employee.
